GELDORAD – THE LAST STRANGER

Arturo has fallen into Geldorad, land of a thousand horrors, and he is determined to defy the decrees of its gods and do what no one has ever done before – escape alive.

Geldorad’s citizens turn a blind eye to the monsters, murders, and miseries which lie everywhere in their city but Arturo cannot look away, no matter how grim it gets. The city’s stories and songs are all Arturo has left after finding his way to this hidden city, and all these stories and songs reveal a chilling truth – the city is in its final days. Arturo’s overbearing and cruel guardian urges him not to meddle in the unstable city’s affairs but he refuses to wait for death in a world that is not his own.

Escaping his protector’s clutch, he meets a necromancer who insists that freedom in Geldorad can be attained only through death. He boasts the power to destroy the city and everyone in it. Arturo must learn to navigate both the necromancer’s morbid outlook and the citizens’ wilful ignorance, and vows to discover and prevent the necromancer’s plans, or at least escape Geldorad before they come to fruition.

With enemies on every side, Arturo’s only willing allies are the city’s outcasts and disreputables. The city’s unsettling secrets will test his courage again and again, so he will need their help if he is to survive in the nightmare that is Geldorad.

The story will follow the lives of nine very different characters, pushed together by their city’s final crisis. Readers will become intimately familiar with the diverse hopes and fears of each and wonder alongside them whether good can overcome madness.
